Best Time to Visit Maresias: Weather, Sea and Crowds Month by Month

Short answer: For the warmest water, go from December to March: the sea stays between 24 °C and 26 °C, but these are the rainiest months and, through February, high season. To spend less, go in Villa Blu's low season, from May to August, with 10% cashback on direct bookings in June, July and August. To balance weather, sea and crowds, choose shoulder season (March, April, September, October and November) outside the holidays.

What's the best time to visit Maresias, month by month?

What's the best time to visit Maresias as a couple?

For couples, the best window is shoulder season outside the holidays. In April, September and October, it rains less than in summer, the sea is between 21 °C and 25 °C, and you pay shoulder-season rates. If peace and quiet is the plan, go on weekdays.

When should you go to Maresias with kids?

If you're tied to the school calendar, you have two windows: summer and July. In São Paulo state public schools, 2026 classes end on Dec 18, and 2027 classes don't start until Feb 11, after Carnival. In 2027, the first semester ends on Jul 6 and the second starts on Jul 26. Private schools and municipal school systems have their own calendars.

Summer is high season, with the sea between 24 °C and 26 °C. July is low season and the coldest month, averaging 19.7 °C in the air and 21 °C in the sea. At that time of year, the heated pool, with the water between 27 °C and 29 °C, makes a difference for little ones.

When is it cheapest to visit Maresias?

At Villa Blu, low season runs from May to August. In June, July and August, guests who book direct and are registered with Clube Villa Blu get 10% of the amount back as credit for their next trip, versus 3% on regular dates.

What's the best time to surf in Maresias?

According to Surf-Forecast, the season with the most clean waves in Maresias is fall in the Southern Hemisphere, especially May. The best conditions come with a south swell and an offshore wind from the north. The same site warns that the break often gets crowded.

From December to March, the rainiest months, it helps to have a plan B. At Villa Blu, it's right inside the inn: the pool is heated all year round, with the water between 27 °C and 29 °C, and the sauna is open from 10 am to 10 pm. Breakfast, included in every rate, is served from 8 to 10:30 am.
